Kensington Palace has issued a major update on Kate Middleton in a newly released statement.

The palace has issued a statement regarding the Princess of Wales, after what she noted has been a ‘really difficult’ year.

After receiving her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, Middleton has been in remission for some time, but recently opened up about how grueling the aftermath can really be.

She made her return to public duties with a meaningful visit to a hospital garden in Essex, UK, where she spoke about finding her ‘new normal.’

Middleton said: “You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment.

“Treatment’s done, then it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal,’ but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult.”

The 43-year-old added: “You’re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you’re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to.

“And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable.”

She announced the devastating news in 2024 after a storm of social media speculation questioning where she had been.

The mom-of-three revealed that abdominal surgery found cancer ‘had been present.’

In the statement, she added: “My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

The 43-year-old has since made a slow return to public duties, prioritizing her well-being and family after her cancer treatment.

Middleton is reportedly being more selective in the engagements she attends, focusing on early years education and charities.

Yet Kensington Palace has released a new statement this morning (October 16), noting that the Prince and Princess of Wales will pay a surprise visit to Northern Ireland today.

In a last-minute announcement, the palace revealed that the pair will ‘spend the day visiting innovative organizations that showcase growth and investment in rural areas, and demonstrate entrepreneurial and creative opportunities for young people.’

Their most recent engagement as a couple was a visit to Southport, UK, following the heartbreaking knife attack in July 2024, in which three young girls attending a Taylor Swift dance party were killed.

Prince William and Kate expressed their support for the families of the girls, and visited their schools, commending their ‘remarkable legacies.’
