According to an official statement from the New York City Police Department (NYPD), the officer did not respond with violence, but instead calmly and quickly arrested her.

The woman, who has not been named, has now been formally charged with “Assault on a Police Officer” and “Disorderly Conduct.” If convicted, she could face more than a year in prison.
